The Feeling We Live In

Couple Running and Smiling to Show a Good Feeling

We all live in a feeling—whether it’s one of calm and clarity or stress and overwhelm. But what we often don’t realize is that this feeling isn’t shaped by the circumstances around us; it’s created from within, by our own thinking.

Understanding the nature of this feeling is one of the most powerful insights we can have, and it lies at the heart of the Three PrinciplesMind, Thought, and Consciousness

Living in the Feeling of Our Thinking

Have you ever noticed how your mood can shift dramatically from one moment to the next, even though nothing around you has changed? One minute you’re stressed about a deadline, the next you’re relaxed and enjoying your day. Or perhaps you’ve had days where everything seems to bother you, only to wake up the next day feeling like everything is just fine.

This happens because we don’t live in a feeling generated by external circumstances—we live in the feeling of our thinking. Our thoughts shape the way we feel in each moment, and as those thoughts change, so does our experience of life. When we have stressful or negative thoughts, we experience stress. When we have peaceful or positive thoughts, we feel at ease. But the key insight is this: it’s not the circumstances that create these feelings—it’s our thoughts.

The Three Principles show us that understanding how thought works can fundamentally change the way we experience life. Instead of trying to change our circumstances to feel better, we begin to see that we can experience more peace and well-being simply by understanding that our feelings are coming from within. When we realize this, we stop trying to control or fix everything outside of us and instead allow our thinking to shift naturally.

Thought and the Ever-Changing Nature of Feeling

The feeling we live in is fluid. Just as our thoughts change from moment to moment, so do the feelings we experience. And this is good news. It means that no matter how stuck or overwhelmed we might feel, those feelings are temporary—they will pass as our thinking shifts.

So often, we believe that our feelings are tied to the circumstances of our lives—our jobs, our relationships, our health. But in reality, our feelings are a reflection of the thoughts we’re having in the moment. If we’re thinking about a difficult conversation we had earlier in the day, we might feel anxious. If we’re thinking about an upcoming vacation, we might feel excited. But in both cases, it’s our thoughts that are creating the feeling, not the external events themselves.

This understanding is incredibly freeing. It allows us to stop trying to manage our feelings and instead trust that they will change as our thinking changes. There’s no need to force ourselves to feel better or to constantly search for ways to improve our circumstances. When we see that our feelings are coming from our thinking, we can relax, knowing that a shift in thought is always just around the corner.

Consciousness and Awareness: The Key to Understanding Our Feelings

The principle of Consciousness allows us to become aware of the thoughts we’re having and how they’re shaping our feelings. Without this awareness, we can easily get caught up in our thoughts and believe that our feelings are being caused by the world around us. But as our awareness deepens, we begin to see that our feelings are simply a reflection of our state of mind in the moment.

When we’re in a low state of mind, our thoughts tend to be more negative, and we feel more stressed or frustrated. But when we’re in a higher state of mind, our thoughts are clearer, and we feel more at peace. The key is to recognize that these states of mind are temporary and that they don’t define us. We can experience feelings of stress or overwhelm without getting lost in them, knowing that they are simply a reflection of our current thinking.

As we become more aware of how our thoughts are shaping our feelings, we can begin to let go of the idea that our external circumstances need to change in order for us to feel better. Instead, we learn to trust that our feelings will naturally shift as our thinking shifts. This deeper understanding allows us to live with more ease and grace, even in challenging situations.

Mind: The Source of Well-Being Beneath the Feeling

Beneath all of our changing thoughts and feelings lies the constant presence of Mind—the deeper intelligence that guides us through life. This intelligence is always there, even when our thoughts are clouded by stress or worry. Mind provides the wisdom and clarity we need to navigate life’s challenges, and it’s always available to us, whether we realize it or not.

When we learn to trust in this deeper intelligence, we stop trying to control or manage our feelings. Instead, we allow our thoughts and feelings to flow naturally, knowing that we are always supported by the wisdom of Mind. This trust brings a sense of calm and resilience, even in difficult times, because we know that our well-being is not dependent on our current feeling. Our true well-being is always present, waiting for us to reconnect with it.

Living in a Feeling of Ease and Clarity

The more we understand the nature of the feeling we live in, the more we can experience a life of ease, clarity, and well-being. We stop being so concerned with how we’re feeling in each moment, knowing that our feelings will shift as our thoughts shift. This doesn’t mean that we won’t experience difficult feelings—it means that we no longer need to fear them or try to control them.

When we live in a feeling of trust—trust in the natural flow of thought, trust in the deeper wisdom of Mind—we find ourselves more at ease with life’s ups and downs. We become more resilient in the face of challenges, more present in our relationships, and more connected to the joy and peace that are always available to us.

Conclusion: The Power of Understanding the Feeling We Live In

The feeling we live in is not dictated by our external circumstances—it’s created by our own thinking in the moment. As we begin to understand the Three Principles of Mind, Thought, and Consciousness, we see that we have the ability to experience more peace, clarity, and well-being, regardless of what’s happening around us. By trusting in the natural intelligence of Mind and becoming more aware of how our thoughts shape our feelings, we unlock the potential for a richer, more fulfilling life.

Pransky & Associates

In 1976, George and Linda Pransky stumbled on a new way of helping people that was radically different from the traditional counseling methods they had been using in their work. The new principles they were learning had a huge impact on their personal lives, their relationship, and the way they worked with their clients. They began to teach these principles to their clients and became pioneers in a new field of psychology that profoundly changed people in a short amount of time.
